Stories are universal, and the way we tell them changes as the world ever evolves

To me, being an event stylist and organiser is much like being both the writer and the narrator, creating stories that embody exactly what my clients had imagined and telling them in a way that connects with their audience on the day. My job has provided some magnificent experiences with truly incredible stories to tell.

Last month I got a call from Cristina at White Stories @white_stories_photography, and was asked to grab my infamous black book and organise a wedding shoot up high on the Ibizan cliffs with views to take your breath away, I knew immediately it was going to be one to remember.

Ibiza is a truly magical island that artists have flocked to for inspiration and respite, many spending years trying to encapsulate the magic of the island through their artwork. The challenge for this Ibiza wedding shoot was exactly that; to weave together the warm and earthy tones of the Mediterranean fused with spiritual elements to symbolise the island’s energy, using natural textures to establish a visual balance in synergy with the rugged landscapes; to tell the story of a true Ibizan wedding.

The Location

The perfect venue sprung to mind almost immediately, it had to be Casa la Vista @casalavistaibiza, a gorgeous luxe villa situated on the North coast of Ibiza with direct access to the sea and lush courtyard gardens set within the estate’s 30 acres of fragrant pine forest. In keeping with its name, Casa la Vista is indeed the ‘house with a view’. The venue offers the most breathtaking views of the azure blue Mediterranean sea and is surrounded by the green rolling hills of the pine forests. Casa la Vista is a peaceful oasis of spell-binding beauty. So that’s the perfect perfectly sun-dappled Mediterranean location for the shoot ticked off the list, next up styling…

The Styling

The shoot’s two main creative heads; Cristina (White Stories) and Caroline (La Boheme) wanted to really encapsulate Ibiza’s bohemian essence, incorporating geometric forms, as well as crystals and plenty of natural materials in keeping with Ibiza’s earthy vibe. I knew who would be the perfect team to enlist to create some magic with us…

I reached out to Danielle at @velvetcircusibiza who’s well-known island wide for providing the the very best array of luxury decoration hire in Ibiza, alongside Silvia at @sumeriacreations; an incredibly talented team who build bespoke wooden and metal Sacred Geometry inspired creations using the golden ratio and the geometry of our planet in their unique designs. Kristin at @flowers_ibiza took care of floristry art, turning her hand at creating arrangements with a balance between visual, sense and mind designed to awaken the sense of inner peace and calmness.

But make it fashion

Modelling as Bride and Groom on the day were beautiful Caroline @caroline._.blot and the very fine Maya @mr__maya_. The infamous Jo at @jo.jamface sprinkled her magic touch on their hair and applied the perfect smouldering make up for the occasion. The Bride’s dress was hand-picked by Cristina from the beautiful collection at Virgina Vald @virginiavald’s boutique where every piece is made in Ibiza with love and care, adding hats from one-of-a-kind Island-based hatmaker Mar Calvo at @calvohats to complete the look.

All that was left was to capture the magic...
